The Living Room
This is the Living Room. This is the first room that we finished. When we moved into this house two years ago - it needed help. EVERY single wall in this house was covered with wallpaper (BROWN wallpaper). The previous owner was also a heavy smoker. So in addition to brown walls, we had yellow ceilings.
It took us about 50 hours to strip the wallpaper (in the Living Room, Hall, Master Bedroom) and paint the walls and ceilings. We did it the week before we moved in.

The walls are painted "antique white". The furniture is sage green.
The drapes and accessories are cranberry. There is a
Waverly border of vines and berries (in greens, cranberries, and blues)
around the ceiling.
The TV and stereo equipment are stored in the amoire (so the baby can't get at them.)
We also installed eight recessed lights in the ceiling.

These six stairs exit the living room and lead up to the three bedrooms and the bathroom.
The original stair railing was made of wrought iron and was painted white.
We removed the wrought iron railing and
replaced it with a solid brass railing. This brass railing was salvaged from a beauty salon that had closed.
We have another brass rail that matches. It is on the stairway that leads down to the playroom.
